Steven Cheek is a studio potter living in Louisville, KY. He received his MFA from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and a BFA from the University of Evansville. Steven is co-founder of the Southern Crossings Pottery Festival. (www.sxpf.org)
Cheek was the Director/Artist in Residence at the Mary Anderson Center for the Arts from 2010 to 2020. He has taught at the University of Louisville Hite School of Art and Design, Georgia State University School of Art and Design, University of Tennessee Chattanooga and was an Artist in Residence at Odyssey Center for the Ceramic Arts in Asheville, NC.
He has exhibited throughout the US include “The New Aesthetics of Ceramics Invitational", "Strictly Functional", “International Cup”, the “16th San Angelo National Ceramics Competition” and “Cup: The Intimate Object.”
He has received several awards and recognitions and is included in many private and public collections.
